Brandsona's Signature Feature
The Branding Puzzle™ is a guided 9-piece framework that connects your brand's foundation to every marketing channel you use — developed by Chris Vaughan in 2012 and now digitized inside Brandsona.
The Origin Story
Chris Vaughan, founder of EBOSS Group and the creator of Brandsona, developed The Branding Puzzle™ in 2012 through hands-on marketing consulting work with organizations across multiple industries.
Since then, Chris has presented it as the keynote speaker at conferences, led strategic planning retreats, breakout sessions, workshops, and webinars under the title Piecing Together Your Branding Puzzle — helping organizations of all sizes define what they stand for and connect that foundation to every marketing channel they use.
The Branding Puzzle™ is more than a framework that categorizes your marketing strategy. When applied correctly, it helps your organization establish a true brand identity and understand how to optimize your marketing budget across every channel.

The Framework
The Branding Puzzle™ organizes your entire marketing strategy into three rows — each building on the one before it.
The foundation row is built first and drives everything else. Your Key Values define the principles that guide every decision your business makes. Your Differentiators articulate what makes you genuinely better or different for the customers you serve. Your Mission Statement — crafted from your values and differentiators — becomes the one or two sentences that drive every piece of content you create. In Brandsona, the AI reads your foundation before generating any content.
With your foundation in place, the digital marketing row connects your brand identity to your online presence. Social media, your website, and digital media (email, digital ads, online content) are all planned with your foundation as the guide. This ensures your digital channels reinforce your brand rather than contradict it.
The traditional marketing row covers your offline presence — community involvement and public actions, print and promotional materials, and paid traditional advertising (billboards, magazines, sponsorships). These channels are most effective when anchored to the same brand foundation that drives your digital strategy.
The Column Logic
Left Column — Long Play
Social Media, Key Values, and Public Actions are your long-play brand builders. They take time but create lasting brand equity that compounds over the life of your business.
Center Column — Brand Anchors
Website, Mission Statement, and Print/Promo are your permanent anchors — the foundational elements everything else references. Get these right and everything else becomes easier.
Right Column — Short Play
Digital Media, Differentiators, and Pay to Play are your short-play tactics — more flexible and interchangeable as your market evolves. These are where you test, adjust, and optimize.
Why It Matters
Most small businesses skip brand strategy entirely and go straight to posting on social media. The result is inconsistent content that doesn't build a brand — it just creates noise.
The frameworks that enterprise brands use — defining core values, articulating mission, connecting brand identity to every marketing channel — typically require consultants charging thousands of dollars. The Branding Puzzle™ puts that same strategic process into guided software, available to any organization on a Business plan or above.

Inside Brandsona
The Branding Puzzle™ in Brandsona walks you through each piece in order — starting with Key Values, then Differentiators, then Mission Statement. At each step, AI assists you without taking over. The result is your brand foundation, not a generic template.
Once your puzzle is complete, every AI-generated post, article, and image across Brandsona draws from your Key Values, Differentiators, and Mission Statement. Your content sounds like you because the AI knows who you are before it starts writing.
Run different campaigns or divisions? Create multiple Branding Puzzles for the same organization — each with its own foundation, feeding its own content strategy.
The Branding Puzzle™ is included in Business and Business Pro plans. Agency plans can toggle it on per client org — and use it as a premium brand strategy service offering.
For Marketing Agencies
Most agencies compete on content execution. The Branding Puzzle™ lets you compete on brand strategy. Walk clients through their foundation — charge for a brand strategy session — then use the output to generate perfectly on-brand content inside Brandsona. Add a new revenue line without hiring a brand strategist.
